Fall Is Here!

So Why Does it Feel Like Summer?

A blog about houseplants and the people who love them.

Hello!

I am back from a bout with the flu and bronchitis. Started out as a summer cold and just snowballed. There's nothing as lousy as being sick as a dog while it's 85 and gorgeous out, let me tell you! I'm still not 100 percent, but getting there.

This weather is crazy! The calendar says September, which means fall is arriving, but the thermometer is reading 86 and humid. Looks like summer is going to hang on for awhile longer. Even though the temps are still summery, this is the time to start thinking about bringing your houseplants back inside. Start gradually moving them into shadier and shadier spots so that they will acclimate themselves to the reduced light of indoors. After a couple of weeks, bring them indoors, and if the night temps in your area dip below 50, bring them in right away! Make sure to check throughly for insects first!
