Wedding season is in high gear. It won't be long until legions of June brides walk down the aisle. I happen to be one of them! While doing my planning, I realized that houseplants can play a beautiful part in a wedding. For instance, they make really cute favors! Just place them in pretty pots (easy to find at the local dollar store) wrap in a bit of tulle, and tie a ribbon around them. You can find tiny houseplant "starter plants" from anywhere from .99 cents to a few dollars. Not only do they make a pretty and economical favor, but they'll be a lasting reminder of your special day.
Another idea is to use them as centerpieces! You can find larger plants for around $10 each. Pair with a pretty pot or wrap the pot they came in with some colored foil and pretty ribbon. With so many different kinds of plants to chose from it's easy to find one that fits your wedding theme perfectly. How about African Violets? They come in many different colors. Coleus, with it's vibrantly colored foliage is also a beautiful choice. Jasmine plants are another good choice. Their fragrance would add to the romantic atmosphere! Houseplant centerpieces would be especially gorgeous for a garden wedding.
Houseplants can also make pretty decorations for a garden themed wedding. Vines like Philodendrons or Pothos would make stunning garlands, and large specimen plants would brighten up corners and add color and interest to entrances and outer areas.
Houseplants are great wedding decorations. They are versatile, economical, and beautiful.
